Frequently Asked Questions

Who hosts the Charlton Fireworks Celebration?

The Fireworks Celebration is organized by the Municipality of Charlton and Dack with the support of local businesses. Without their support the fireworks show would not be possible. The fireworks show is put on by NorthStar Fireworks Entertainment Inc. out of Waterloo, Ontario.

Am I still able to make a donation?

Yes please do! We accept donations right up until July 1st. Donations will also be collected at the entrances to town by the Charlton Englehart Lions Club.

Will the show go on if it rains?

Yes the show will go on rain or shine.

Will a shuttle bus be provided?

No there will be no shuttle bus from Englehart this year.

What will be happening in addition to the fireworks display?

The Charlton Agricultural Society will be hosting events at the Fairgrounds on Highway 560 throughout the day. The Charlton Heritage Centre will be open from 1pm to 4pm for internet, books and touring. There will also be Canada Day cupcakes and free giveaways for the first 250 people at the event!

Where is everything taking place?

The Fireworks will take place at the Charlton Waterfront at dark (usually just after 10pm). This year the fireworks will be shot from the North end (instead of the west). Arrive early to get a spot!

Can I go to the location where the fireworks are set off?

It is not safe to be close to the actual fireworks preparation site itself but Charlton does offer a number of good viewing areas.

Agnes Street and Church Street will be closed to all but local traffic during the event.

Are there washrooms available?

A portable washroom will be provided at the Charlton Water Plant parking lot on Agnes Street across from Blackbridge Park.
